Diagnoses of imported chikungunya in Spain have tripled this year, reaching 113 cases by the beginning of August, compared to the same period in 2015. All registered cases are imported, meaning the infection was acquired outside of Spain. Bolivia is the most frequent country of origin for these cases, with 52 related infections.
