As of July 23, 2026, Mato Grosso do Sul had recorded 28 deaths from chikungunya, surpassing the 25 deaths that occurred between 2015 and 2025. A total of 9,686 cases were confirmed in 2026, including 114 pregnant women. Most of the victims resided in Dourados, a city experiencing an epidemic.
Vaccination is available in six municipalities. Regarding dengue, there were no deaths in 2026, with 1,815 confirmed cases.
