Since August 9, the Mauritian Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported 13 new confirmed cases of chikungunya on Mauritius (12) and Rodrigues Island (1). The total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of January is 6,868: 6,769 on Mauritius and 99 on Rodrigues Island, as of August 16. No deaths have been reported. The MOH continues its intensified surveillance, case management, hotspot mapping, larvicide application, and risk communication activities.
