One hundred and sixty new cases of chikungunya fever were reported in epidemiological week 20, showing a progressive decrease after the peak of 430 cases in epidemiological week 16. The cumulative total for the 2025-2026 season is 2,547 cases (confirmed and probable), of which 2,393 are autochthonous and 154 have a history of travel.
Ninety-six percent are concentrated in Northwest Argentina (NOA). Salta leads with 1,329 cases, followed by Tucumán (661), Santiago del Estero (230), and Jujuy (197). In the Central region, 46 cases were reported in Buenos Aires Province, 36 in Córdoba, and 13 in the City of Buenos Aires. No new cases of dengue were confirmed in epidemiological week 20, with the total remaining at 66 confirmed cases for the season.
